Pickup and drop-off zones
Roads near a stadium can close on big matchdays. When an official traffic plan with pickup zones is published, we add it here.
Ride safe
Check the plate, car model and driver photo before you get in.
Use the app's share-trip feature so a friend can follow your ride.
Pay through the app or as it shows. Do not agree a separate cash price.
Fares rise after matches and in rain. Waiting a little or walking to a quieter street can help.
Taking a matatu
Matatus are Nairobi's shared minibuses: cheap and everywhere, but busy.
Routes are shown on the front of the matatu. Confirm the destination and fare with the conductor before you get in.
Matatus get crowded at rush hour and after matches. Keep your phone and wallet out of sight.
Your host or hotel can tell you the right route and stage for where you are going.
